Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement
Removal
NOTE:
- Removal of the front passenger's weight sensors must be done according to Precautions and Procedures. Service and Repair
- The front passenger's weight sensor are part of the seat rail and must be replaced as an assembly.
1. Move the front passenger's seat all the way forward.
2. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
3. Remove the front passenger's seat assembly. Front Seat Removal/Installation
4. Remove the upper rail outer cover and upper rail inner cover. Front Seat Frame Replacement
5. Remove the mounting bolts (A) from weight sensors (B).
6. Move the seat rail all the way rearward, disconnect the sensor connectors (C) from the ODS unit harness, then remove the nuts (D) and front seat rear foot (E).
7. Remove the bolts (F), then remove the front passenger's weight sensors (B).
Installation
NOTE:
- Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfere with other parts.
- Make sure both of the hooks (A) on the seat track are properly secured to the front bracket (B). If the hooks are not properly secured, the front passenger's weight sensors will not perform properly.
1. Install and torque the front passenger's weight sensors with new mounting bolts (C) nuts (D) under the seat cushion.
2. Install the upper rail outer cover and upper rail inner cover. Front Seat Frame Replacement
3. Install the front passenger's seat. Front Seat Removal/Installation
4. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures
5. Clear any DTCs with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
6. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization. ODS Unit Initialization
7. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
