DTC Troubleshooting: B2248

DTC B2248: HIP Power Supply Abnormal (more than 16 V)

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC. How to Troubleshoot the AcuraLink (With AcuraLink)

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).

4. Do the alternator and regulator troubleshooting. Alternator and Regulator Circuit Troubleshooting

Is the charging system OK?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Repair the charging system.


5. Check for DTC with the HDS.

Is DTC B2248 indicated?
YES - Substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original AcuraLink control unit. AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation

NO - Intermittent failure, the HIP is OK at this time.
