DTC Troubleshooting: B2249

DTC B2249: HIP Power Supply Abnormal (less than 9 V)

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC. How to Troubleshoot the AcuraLink (With AcuraLink)

2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II).

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B2249 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Intermittent failure, HIP is OK at this time.


5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) terminal No. 1 and No. 28.

Is there 9 V or less?
YES - Faulty battery or +B line.

NO - Substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit, AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original AcuraLink control unit. AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation
