Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 1701, 2608

DTC 1701: R-Camera Error

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first. Testing and Inspection

1. Clear the hard error code. How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

4. Check the System Links.

Is the Rear camera icon red?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.


5. Check for poor connection(s) or loose terminal(s) at the rearview camera 6P connector and the navigation unit connector E (7P).

Are the connections OK?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Repair poor connection(s) or loose terminal(s).


6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

7. Disconnect the rearview camera 6P connector.

8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

9. Measure the voltage between the rearview camera 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.

Is there about 3.0 V?
YES - Replace the rearview camera. Service and Repair

NO - Go to step 10.






10. Measure the voltage between navigation unit connector E (7P) terminal No. 7 and body ground.

Is there about 3.0 V?
YES - There is an open in the wire between the navigation unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Replace the navigation unit. Service and Repair
