Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2601

DTC 2601: Display Diag: Connect

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first. Testing and Inspection

- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.

1. Clear the hard error code. How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

4. Check the System Links.

Is the Display icon red?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.


5. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at navigation unit connector B (32P), AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P), USB adapter unit connector A (14P), HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector and XM receiver connector A (14P).

Are the connections OK?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck the Self-Diagnosis Mode. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode


6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

7. Disconnect navigation unit connector B (32P) and the navigation display unit 20P connector.

8. Connect navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals No. 10 and No. 26 with a jumper wire.






9. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 20P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 15.

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 10.

NO - There is an open in the wire between the navigation unit and the navigation display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.






10. Disconnect the jumper wire.

11. Disconnect the AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) USB adapter unit connector A (14P), the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector and XM receiver A (14P) connector.

12. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 20P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 13, and terminals No. 5 and No. 15.

Is there continuity?
YES - There is a short in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Go to step 13.






13. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation display unit 20P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 15 individually.

Is there continuity?
YES - There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit and the navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Go to step 14.






14. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 20P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 15 to No. 14.

Is there continuity?
YES - Short in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Go to step 15.






15. Reconnect the all connectors, then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

16. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

17. Check the System Links.

Is the Display icon red?
YES - Go to step 18.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.


18. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

19. Disconnect audio unit connector C (14P), and then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

20. Go into the Diagnostic Menu and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

21. Select the Display.

Is the Display icon red?
YES - Go to step 22.

NO - Internal short circuit of in the audio unit. Replace the audio unit. Audio Unit Removal/Installation


22. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

23. Connect the audio unit connector C (14P).

24. Disconnect the AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) or XM receiver connector A (14P), and then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

25. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

26. Select the Display.

Is the Display icon red?
YES - Go to step 27.

NO - Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver), AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation or XM receiver unit. Auxiliary Jack Assembly Replacement


27. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

28. Connect the AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) or XM receiver unit connector A (14P).

29. Disconnect the USB adapter unit connector A (14P), and then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

30. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

31. Select the Display.

Is the Display icon red?
YES - Go to step 32.

NO - Replace the USB adapter unit. USB Adapter Unit Replacement


32. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

33. Connect the USB adapter unit connector A (14P).

34. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector, and then turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

35. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and Select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items Menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode

36. Select the Display.

Is the Display icon red?
YES - Replace the navigation display unit. Service and Repair

NO - Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit. Service and Repair
