Subject:
Diesel Injection Pump Identification
Key Points:
- Warranty parts tag completion
- Identifying New and Exchange pumps
- Claim completion
- Packaging parts
Warranty claim rejections and parts returns can be reduced by proper completion of warranty parts tags. In order to determine the correct warranty code refer to the identification stamp on the injection pump housing. All Robert Bosch injection pumps have a 10 digit part number stamped on the housing.
When an original pump core is returned for rebuilding, the Robert Bosch Corp. stamps an X over the last digit and stamps a new digit next to it. Thus, indicating an exchange pump. Proper completion of Warranty parts tags are mandatory.
