Final drive assembly, sealing

When repairing a leaking final drive housing assembly on the 089 transmission, the following revised parts need to be installed. The revised parts are identified with an asterisk (*).
1. Front cover
^ coat sealing surface with Part No. AMV 188 200 03
^ sealing hole, Fig. 6
2. O-ring*
^ always replace
^ color coded: green
3. Pinion shaft seal*
^ removing, Fig. 3
^ installing, Fig. 4
^ with double lip around bead for pinion shaft, Fig. 2
4. Bolt with collar*
^ 30 N-m (22 ft.lb.) plus additional 1/8 turn (45~)
^ use correct bolt only
5. Sleeve*
^ replace previously used pins
^ installation depth, Fig. 7
6. O-ring*
^ for oil channel
^ always replace
^ color coded: green
7. O-ring*
^ always replace
^ color coded: green
8. Final drive housing
^ coat sealing surface and chamfered edge for pinion shaft cover with Part No. AMV 188 200 03, Fig. 5
9. Pinion shaft*
^ with bead for double-lip seal, Fig. 1
