Hydraulic pump piston cap seals, replacing
If any of the eight piston cap seals (arrow) of the hydraulic pump are leaking or seeping, ALL of the seals must be replaced, Seal, P/N: 026 145 049
Quantity needed: 8
Note
If the cap is damaged, replace it with P/N: 026 145 541.
CAUTION
Part numbers are for reference only. Always check with your Parts Department for latest information.
^ modify a 3/4 inch, 1/2 inch drive drag link socket (locally obtainable) by grinding 1.0 mm off each side (arrow)
^ remove hydraulic pump from vehicle (see Repair Manual, Group 48)
^ mount pump in vise (use jaw covers)
^ loosen piston caps using hand impact driver and modified drag link socket
^ remove caps and seals
^ install caps and new seals
^ torque caps to 50 N-m (37 ft.lb.)
^ prime hydraulic pump and install in vehicle (see procedure in Repair Manual, Group 48)
