Problem:
Allen/hex head of intake manifold bolts round out during removal.
Cause:
Wrench is not properly seated in hex socket of bolt, usually because of dirt/corrosion build-up in the socket.
Service Solution:
^ clean dirt/grease out of hex socket
^ lightly tap Allen socket with a small hammer to ensure proper seating of the tool into the bolt before attempting to loosen stubborn bolts
^ use a wobble extension, e.g. Snap-On FXW6 - 6" or FXW8 - 8" (or equivalents), along with a hex head socket
Note
Use of a wobble extension provides up to 16~ of rotation flexibility while still providing proper seating of the tool in the bolt.
If the bolt is rounded out:
^ remove the bolt using a screw extractor (easy out) e.g. Blue Point 108E or 109F
