This Figure shows automatic transmission 096. Arrangement of the shift elements in automatic transmission 097 is identical.

Transmissions starting with build date 01 11 2 (code letters: CFS) are revised with modified ratios and shift sequences. The revisions are shown.

Note:
The modified components cannot be installed in previously manufactured transmissions (code letters: CBV).

1 - 2nd and 4th gear (4 GR) brake B2

2 - Reverse gear clutch K2

3 - 1st to 3rd gear (3 GR) clutch K3

4 - 3rd and 4th gear (3 GR and 4 GR) clutch K3

5 - Reverse gear brake B1

6 - One-way clutch


For complaints about poor acceleration and speed values or other malfunctions, the following table gives information on which shifting elements are activated in the individual gears.






Position of the shift elements

Gears R, 1, 2 and 3 are shifted hydraulically. In 4th gear (4 GR), the converter is bridged mechanically.
