Passenger Airbag - Removal/Installation

Passenger Side Airbag Assembly:

^ Disconnect 1 - Voltage supply pin connector
^ Remove glove compartment
- Loosen Torx screw (2) and remove airbag (1) from instrument panel
^ Tightening torque 17 ft.lb. (24 N-m)
^ Disconnect electrical connector on tunnel (4) (orange) and remove airbag (1)

Note:
Connector (3) (2 pin, red), on the airbag must never be disconnected

^ If connection (3) is loose, replace the airbag unit
^ Always replace the airbag with front side up
- Assemble in reverse sequence

Note:
Airbag mounting plate (5) MUST be installed to ensure normal function of the passenger airbag

^ When installing the airbag, always replace hex bolt (2) with a new one. Verify that bolt/nut threads are clean

^ Ensure that cable (4) is not clamped between the instrument panel and airbag. If necessary, tape the cable to the airbag prior to installation
