01N Transmission
^ The table lists the malfunctions that can be recognized by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J217-, according to their 5-digit Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).^ Malfunctions are displayed on the scan tool in "Rapid data transfer" operating mode 1; when the scan tool printer is switched on, the malfunction and the corresponding DTC are also printed. The 5-digit DTC appears only on the printout.
^ If malfunctions occur only occasionally, or if DTC memory was not erased after malfunctions were repaired, the malfunctions are displayed with "/SP" and/or printed along with "sporadic DTC" on the print-out => Malfunction Recognition. Refer to On-Board Diagnostics II. Description and Operation
^ If faulty components are indicated, test the wiring for short or open circuits according to the wiring diagram, and check wiring harness connectors for corrosion before replacing the components.
^ Do not disconnect harness connectors from any electronic components unless the ignition has been switched off. Otherwise, malfunctions may be stored in DTC memory as a result.
