Extracting Diagnostic Trouble Codes

NOTE: The DTC memory can only be erased after it has first been checked for stored DTCs.

- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool, insert "Transmission Electronics" address word 02, and advance program until "Select function XX" appears in display.

Indicated on display:

Rapid data transfer HELP
Select function XX

- Press buttons -0- and -2- to select the "Check DTC Memory" function 02.

Indicated on display:

02 - Check DTC Memory

- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Indicated on display (number of stored DTCs):

X DTC Recognized ->

"No DTC recognized":

No DTC recognized ->

NOTE: Stored DTCs are displayed and, if the printer is switched on, printed, one after the other.

After display and printout of last malfunction:
- Press -> button.
- Identify and repair malfunctions as described in DTC table:

- Press -> button.
