Air Duct: Service and Repair




Air Duct With Intake Housing, Disassembling And Assembling

- Air conditioner unit removing.
- Disassembling and assembling air conditioner unit.


NOTE:
- Starting September 1998, there was a running change in production from the version "1" air conditioner to the version "2" air conditioner.
- From model year 2002 air conditioner version "3" is installed
- From version "3" a second positioning motor has been installed at the intake duct.
- From version "3", the air recirculating/fresh air flap is actuated by Recirculation Flap Motor -V113- and no longer by the Air Flow Flap Motor -V71-.


Air duct and intake housing (vehicles from model year 2002)







1 - Bolt
2 - Control module for fresh air blower -J126-
3 - Bolt
4 - Fresh Air Blower -V2-
- The blower wheel for the fresh air blower installed in version "2" air conditioning unit is approx. 10 mm shorter than the one in version "1".
5 - Air duct
- Do not disassemble further
- Air duct for version "2"
- From version "2", the air duct at the fresh air blower fan is narrower than the air duct in version "1".
6 - Intake housing (version "3")
- Do not disassemble further
- With fresh air/recirculated air flap and two air flow flaps
- On intake housing version "3", the fresh air/recirculated air flap has a positioning motor as well as the back pressure flap
7 - Foam sealing pad
- Forms seal between intake housing and vehicle body
8 - Bracket for Recirculation Flap Motor -V113-
9 - Recirculation Flap Motor -V113-
- Actuated by fresh air/recirculating flap
- With Recirculation - Flap Motor Position Sensor -G143-
10 - Bolt
11 - Bolt
12 - Air Flow Flap Motor -V71-.
- Actuates back pressure flaps
- With Back Pressure Flap Motor Position Sensor -G113-
13 - Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor -G89-
