Vehicle Information
Condition
Vehicle must meet ALL of the following criteria.
1. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the IL code in the OTIS View Campaign inquiry screen on the day of repair
2. Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
3. Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin. Procedure must also be performed on applicable vehicles in Dealer inventory.
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occuring in the vehicle.
This Technical Bulletin is in effect for 15 months from date of publication as listed above. After that date, this Technical Service Bulletin will expire and no longer be in effect.
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) warning may turn on unnecessarily. This software update does not affect the operational functionality of the system.
Technical Background
On Audi A8 vehicles, the warning lamp for the electronic parking brake (EPB) may light up due to a memory overflow on the EPB control unit.
Production Solution
Updated EPB software implemented in the production of new vehicles.
