Condition





The seat frame may creak at load change.

Technical Background

Structural elements in the seat may creak when under pressure.








Elements of the seat used to adjust the seat's incline may come in contact with each other at load change.








Production Solution

Adjusted the position of the seat's structural supports.

Service

Install the optimized adjustment levers designed not to scrape against the bolts.

The levers are available in a repair kit, which includes two optimized levers with bolts for one seat (either left or right).

Repair kit: Part number 4E0 898 022

Remove the seat.

Remove the side trim and its holders.





Remove the adjustment lever -A:- with the bolts -B- and - C

Secure the bolts with locking compound (D 000 600 A2).

Tightening torques: bolt -B- 10 ± 1.5 Nm

Tightening torques: bolt -C- 20 + 3 Nm
