1 30 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn
• Self-locking
• Replace
2 Washer
3 30 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn
• Self-locking
• Replace
4 Tensioning roller
5 Tensioning lever
• Insert washer => [ (Item 6) Washer ]
6 Washer
• For tension lever
7 Toothed belt
• Identify running direction with chalk or felt-tip pen before removal, reversed running direction can cause damage to used toothed belts
• Check for wear
• Do not kink
• Removing, refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] Service and Repair
• Installing (Adjusting valve timing) => [ Installing (Adjusting valve timing) ] Service and Repair

9 Exhaust camshaft toothed belt gear
• For cylinder bank 1 (right) with damper
• With camshaft adjuster
• Marking "Auslass"
10 Intake camshaft toothed belt gear
• For cylinder bank 1 (right)
• With camshaft adjuster
• Marking "Einlass"
11 10 Nm
• Self-locking
• Replace
12 Idler roller holder
13 10 Nm
• Self-locking
• Replace
14 Right rear toothed belt guard
15 Idler roller
16 10 Nm

18 Mechanical coolant pump

21 Left rear toothed belt guard

• Self-locking
• Replace
23 Exhaust camshaft toothed belt gear
• For cylinder bank 2 (left) without damper
• With camshaft adjuster
• Marking "Auslass"
24 100 Nm
• Use Camshaft Adjuster Gauge (T40030) to loosen and tighten
25 O-ring
• Replace
26 Cap
27 Circlip
28 Toothed belt gear diamond disc
• Replace after removing toothed belt gear
29 Eccentric roller
30 45 Nm
31 Crankshaft toothed belt sprocket
32 Central bolt - 200 Nm +180° (1/2 turn) additional turn
• Replace
• Do not oil lubricate additionally
• Use Locking Pin (T40026) to loosen and tighten
• Install Locking Pin (T40026) => [ Install into hole, if necessary rotate crankshaft very slightly
back and forth to completely center the pin. ] Service and Repair
• Replace after removing diamond disc => [ (Item 28) Toothed belt gear diamond disc ]
• There must be no oil on the contact surface between toothed belt gear, diamond disc and crankshaft
• Only possible to install in one position
• Depending on version with/without thrust washer, refer to => [ Vibration Damper ] Vibration Damper
