Wire Connection Between Transmission Control Module (TCM) and A/T 01V, Checking
Wire Connection Between Transmission Control Module (TCM) And Automatic Transmission 01V, Checking
Test requirements:
- Ignition switched off
- Transmission at ambient temperature (approx. 20 degrees C).
- Perform measurements using text box outside the vehicle.
Test sequence
- Connect V.A.G 1598/20 test box to wiring harness of Transmission Control Module (TCM).
- Disengage mounting components (arrows) and remove sound insulation.
- Unbolt bracket -1- for sound insulation.
- Swivel securing lever -4- and disconnect electrical 16-pin harness connector for transmission wiring harness.
- Connect multimeter between terminals of 16-pin harness connector and sockets of test box e.g. V.A.G 1598/20 for resistance measurement as indicated in the following table.
- Specified value: respectively less than 1.5 Ohms

NOTE:
- If results deviate from specified value, repair open circuit in wiring according to wiring diagram and check harness connector for contact corrosion, ingress of water and leaks.
- If this test of the wire connections resulted in no deviations, internal transmission wiring harness must be checked, remove valve body to do so.
- If internal transmission wiring harness is OK, replace the corresponding solenoid valve or pressure regulator valve, remove valve body to do so
