VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnosis, Measurement and Information System, connecting and selecting functions - 01V, 5 Speed A/T

Test requirements:
^ Parking brake applied.
^ Vehicle voltage supply O.K.
^ Voltage supply and fuses for particular system O.K.
^ Ground connections for transmission O.K.

- Check ground connections for corrosion and damaged connection, repair as needed.
- Check battery ground strap and ground strap between battery and transmission.

Test procedure
- Switch ignition OFF.





- Connect VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnosis, Measurement and Information System with diagnostic lead VAS 5051/1.

Note: The Data Link Connector (DLC) is located in the left side knee bolster.

Display on VAS 5051:
- Touch "Vehicle On Board Diagnostic System" button.





Display on VAS 5051:

Note: By touching "00 - Scan DTC Memory - Complete System" in the selection -1- the automatic test sequence is performed, i.e. a scan is perfomed of the DTC memory for all systems in the vehicle capable of On Board Diagnostic (OBD)..

Depending on the desired function:

- Switch ignition ON.

or

- Start engine.
- In selection -1- touch vehicle system "02 - Transmission Electronics".
- Wait until next display appears on screen.





Display on VAS 5051:

1 - Refer to Control module identification number of the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
