Affected Vehicles
72 Front seat free play is perceived by customer as excessive
Condition
Customer perceives free play in the front seat as excessive.
Technical Background
May be due to unsuitable production tolerances within the guide rails in the lower seat frame (fore/aft adjustment frame).
Production Solution
Improved rail tolerances.
Service
Test drive the vehicle with the customer. Before condemning the lower seat frame, compare the amount of free play in the customer's vehicle to another, preferably new, vehicle. Proceed with the replacement of the lower seat frame only if it is apparent that the free play is noticeably greater than that of another vehicle.
