Radio System

CD Changer, Removing and Installing

CAUTION!
This section refers to components of the communication systems available in Europe and not all apply to communication systems used in USA and Canada.

The removal of disc drives in Media Player, Position 1 (R118)/Media Player, Position 2 (R119) are identical.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)

Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

CD Changer (R41) only

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.

Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

All

CAUTION!
Switch off all electrical components.

Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Removing

- Open glove box.

- Insert two clips on Radio Release Tool (T10057) in release slits on CD Changer (R41) until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.





- Pull CD Changer (R41) out of mounting frame.

- Disconnect all harness connectors on CD Changer (R41).

- Fit the Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - on to the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Remove Radio Release Tool (T10057), push locking tabs on CD Changer (R41) to do so.

Installing

- Connect harness connectors.

- Slide CD Changer (R41) into mounting frame until it engages.
