Audio Amplifier - Component Protection Won't Disable

91 Component protection cannot be disabled after Bose amplifier replacement

Condition





The component protection of the Bose amplifier (address word 47 - sound system) with software part number 4E0 910 223 Q cannot be disabled after replacing the component.

DTC 0824 (component protection, no or wrong basic settings) is stored in the module.

Technical Background

Software fault of the Bose amplifier. After a waiting time of approximately 5 minutes, the component protection of the amplifier can be disabled, and the system is working according to the manufacturer's specification.

Service

If the DTC 0824 (component protection, no or wrong basic settings) is stored in the Bose amplifier and the component protection cannot be disabled right away, proceed as follows:

1. Switch on the ignition.

2. Wait approximately 5 minutes with the ignition on.

3. You should be able to disable the component protection of the amplifier via the VAS Tester now.

Do not replace any components. As soon as further information is known, this TSB will be updated.
