November 30, 2010.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 70 number 08-26 dated December 4, 2008 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

Condition
Noises from the footrest when pressing on footrest trim while driving.

Technical Background

The metal mounting clips for the footrest trim rub in their mounting holes.

Production Solution

Two pieces of adhesive felt strip material are applied to the mounting holes so that the clip is isolated.

Service

1. Cut appropriate sections of the felt strip material and apply to the openings.

In Figures 1 and 2 felt strip material 533 867 910 A has been applied to isolate the mounting clips of the footrest trim.

2. Cut the felt into sections and apply so that the clip can slip through.
The clip now presses on the felt, and the felt covers the metal edges, preventing function noises.
