Interior - Headliner Loose Near Rear Window

61 Headliner loose near rear window

Condition





The headliner is loose in the rear window area.

Technical Background

The Velcro(R) connection between the headliner and the rear window is not fully engaged. If this condition is exhibited the driver's visibility through the rear window is not compromised.

Production Solution

Change in production.

Service

Figure 1:





1. Open the convertible top slightly to ease the headliner tension (Figure 1).

2. Ensure that no headliner material is pinched within the connection border. This will compromise the adhesion.

WARNING:
In the following step, do not use any tools. The pressure applied from your hands alone will suffice. Use caution so as not to break the rear window.

3. Press on the Velcro(R) border in the center above the rear screen and work your way to the left and right to restore the connection. At the same time, have a partner press from the outside in the same area.

4. The Velcro(R) is correctly fitted when an audible snap is heard.
