Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 10-28 dated July 15, 2010 for reasons listed below.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
CONDITION
^ The LED daytime running light in the headlight is inoperative. The low beam / high beam function is not affected.
^ The following DTCs may be stored permanently or sporadically in the 09 - Vehicle electrical system control module J-519:
^ DTC 2745 [Central electronics control (02745) Left daytime running light lamp - Short circuit to Ground]
^ DTC 2746 [Central electronics control (02746) Right daytime running light lamp - Short circuit to Ground]
Tip: The S6 with separate LED daytime driving light in the bumper is not affected.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
LED contacts of the daytime running light on A6 vehicles with xenon headlamps are affected due to oxidation.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Modified headlights.
SERVICE
Replace the affected headlight.
