Dust and Pollen Filter

Follow the replacement interval.

Different versions: In vehicles with a Basic A/C system, a dust and pollen filter with an activated charcoal filter is currently installed. At a later time, a dust and pollen filter without an activated charcoal filter can be installed for this version (introduction not yet finalized). In vehicles with the Comfort A/C system, a dust and pollen filter with an activated charcoal filter is always installed. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

In vehicles with driving school equipment, pedals of driving school equipment must be removed if necessary (depending on the version, service disconnect points are present on driving school pedals). Refer to Installation instructions for driving school equipment.

Removal






- Release the quick-connect coupling - 2 - with a screwdriver - 1 -.

- Detach and remove the cover - 3 - at the bracket - 4 -.

- Cover the floor covering in the front passenger footwell under the dust and pollen filter with paper (to catch dirt).

- Release the retaining tab - B -. Tilt the shaft cover - A - down and remove.






- Pull the dust and pollen filter - D - out of the housing - E - - arrow -.

Installation

Installation is done in reverse order, observe the following:

- Clean the surroundings of the dust and pollen filter in the shaft of the heater prior to installation of a new filter, for example, with a vacuum cleaner.

- Insert the dust and pollen filter so that the angled side points toward the fresh air blower.

- Attach the shaft cover to the air intake housing - C - and press it on until it engages audibly.

Depending on the version, a foam strip - B - may be glued to the the shaft cover - A - (to insulate the space between the covers).
