Heads Up Display Unit: Testing and Inspection






Windshield Projection Head Up Display Control Module (J898), Calibrating

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Head-up display calibration board Audi A6 (VAS 6657)

- The windshield projection head up display control module (J898) must be calibrated in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester:

The windshield projection head up display control module was replaced.

The windshield was removed and installed.

The DTC "no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation" is stored in the DTC memory.

Procedure






- Move the vehicle onto a secure flat surface.

- Set the parking brake - the vehicle must not move during the measuring.

- Fold down the left and right sun visors, disengage them and move them to the side.

- Attach the (VAS 6657) calibration device to the center retainers - 1 and 2 - for the sun visors.

Procedure

- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester and in the "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" mode, select the function windshield projection head up display control module (J898).

After selecting calibrate "windshield projection control module", select the path "height calibration".

- Follow the instructions in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.

- After calibrating the windshield projection control module successfully, end "calibration", turn off the ignition and disconnect the diagnostic connector.
