Affected Vehicles

Condition

The customer may report hearing noises from the upper dashboard area when driving on poor roads, making phone calls, or playing music.

Technical Background

The noise is caused by relative movement between trim carrier and speaker grille.





There is no attachment to the trim carrier in the speaker cut-out (Figure 1, red circle).

Production Solution

A production solution is under development.

Service

1. Remove and install the center speaker grille according to the repair manual.

2. Cut a piece of the textile tape with a pair of scissors to 40mm length and 10mm width.





3. Apply the textile tape to the speaker grille in the location shown in Figure 2.

Tip: Ensure no textile tape does not cover any holes or is not visible after installation.
