Air Ionization System Control Module (J897)

The air ionization system is only provided in vehicles with a rear Climatronic A/C display control head (E265) and only planned for market specific vehicles. Refer to Audi sales program.

The air ionization system button (E677) and the air ionization system control module are always installed in the B-pillar behind the front passenger seat (in vehicles with steering on the left side in the right B-pillar).

Odors in the air flowing by are neutralized at ionizer - D -.






In the case of vehicles without an air ionization system control module, seal the installation opening in air duct - F - in an air-tight manner, for example with adhesive tape.

Removing

- Move the right front seat (passenger side seat) as far forward as possible.

- Switch off the ignition.

- Remove the upper trim of the right B-pillar.

- Disconnect the electrical connection - A -.

- Remove the screw - C -.

- Turn ionizer - D - 90° - arrow - and remove it from the mount of air duct - F -.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order while observing the following.

- Check seal - E - for damage and proper seating.

- Reinstall the removed parts in the opposite order.

- Check the event memory of the Climatronic control module (J255) , and the rear A/C display control head (E265) and erase any displayed malfunctions using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
