Installation Procedure

Replace studs prior to installation. Install new studs included in kit with Loctite 290 (Green). Studs should protrude 28 mm as measured from sealing surface. Clean sealing surface. Install new gasket. Pull PVC sheath included in kit over right coolant hose to prevent hose from chafing on intake manifold.

Mount "U" shaped heating element to bottom of throttle valve assembly using clamp bracket (arrow) and two M6 bolts supplied in kit.

Hand tighten bolts only.

Mount intermediate flange with heating element on studs positioning coolant hose with clamp on fitting. Note: Position clamp so screw is on left side. Secure hose clamp. Mount throttle valve assembly on studs with second gasket between throttle housing and intermediate flange. Note: During this step install vacuum hose for fuel pressure regulator and second coolant hose with clamp. Coolant hose clamps should be positioned with hose clamp screws on outside (facing away from each other) and should not contact any surrounding components as shown in illustration 13 54 062.

Cut off crankcase breather hose in S-shaped bend as shown.

Connect crankcase breather to elbow and tighten throttle valve assembly mounting nuts.

Install a plug in unused connection for crankcase breather in bellows.

Install or connect remaining hoses, throttle valve potentiometer plug and cables.

Check coolant level and, if necessary, add coolant after finishing installation.
