SUBJECT:
Brake Squeal

MODEL:
E36 except M3, 318ti

Situation:
E36s equipped with Jurid 190 front brake pads, and built before 12/94, may exhibit a cold brake squeal, especially with light brake applications when the ambient temperature is below 40(F).

Correction:
In case of customer complaint, replace the front caliper mounts with P/N 34 11 1 163 701 and the retaining springs with P/N 34 11 1 163 801. Clean the brake pads and piston mating surface and lubricate the metal-to-metal contact points and the piston-to-pad contact surface with Bostik Never-Seez(R).
