3 Series (E36) - Vehicles Equipped with Check Control

Situation:

Several causes have been identified for various Check Control messages when no apparent faults in the peripheral circuits exist.

The Check Control messages pertain to the following circuits:

^ License Plate
^ Tail Lights
^ Brake
^ Low B

Correction:





Use the list of known causes and corrections for erroneous Check Control messages when troubleshooting E36 vehicles for the above mentioned complaints. Please note that any one particular erroneous message may have more than one potential cause.
