E-M Top Fails When Lowering Top

Situation:
The operation of the E-M top may be interrupted in the lowering mode on cars produced through 6/94. The point where this happens is when the rear bow drops down into the opened storage well.
The reason for this has been determined to be that the operation of the top linkage is so smooth that when the rear bow drops down, the weight of the bow can cause the tensioning bars to straighten to the point that microswitch S4 is activated, causing the safety circuit to interrupt the top operation.
The drive and drag levers have been modified with 7/94 production to prevent the rear bow from pulling the tensioning bars to the switch actuation point.
Correction:
If this complaint is encountered, replace the levers with the new design parts:
