Availability of New Style Phone Tray

MODEL:
E36 except 318ti & Z3

Situation:

The design of the cupholder used on the E36 has been changed as of 9/96 production. This new style cupholder has been designed to be used in conjunction with a phone tray that will accept the CMT800 or CPT4000 phone.

Because of delivery problems, the new style phone tray will not be available before 11/96. Until the new style trays become available it will be necessary to install an old style cupholder (part number 82 11 1 468 391) in order to install a CMT800 or CPT4000 phone in a car equipped with the new style cupholder.

As soon as the new style phone tray is available, you will be informed by a separate parts bulletin. This tray has to be ordered separately.

Warranty Status:

Covered under the terms of the BMW New Car Limited Warranty only until the new style phone tray is available.
