Correction/Procedure

Correction:

On an affected vehicle, replace the volume control relay with the improved version and modify the wiring harness.

Procedure:

Remove glove box (refer to repair instructions 51 16 360).





Important:
Before removing the glove box, remove screw located above the glove box light (1), (information not included in the repair instructions)





Remove the dark blue relay K99 from the relay socket

Modify the existing circuit, using parts included in the parts kit as shown:





Cut the existing wire (2.5 sq.mm black) in the relay socket X100092, location 6 (rear window blower) approximately 150 mm in front of the relay socket.





Crimp the comb-type connector contacts on both sides and plug into the 3-pin comb-type connector.





Plug the new connecting wire (2.5 sq.mm black) into the third slot of the comb-type connector. Remove the encoding pin from the relay socket (location 5) and plug in the connecting wire.





Insulate the comb-type connector, install the diode relay (color: turquoise-blue)
