SUBJECT:
Voltmeters for M roadster/coupe in BMW Center Inventory

MODEL:
M roadster/coupe to 10/98

Situation:
M roadsters and M coupes produced prior to October 5,1998 have a blanking plate in the center instrument position of the center console. For vehicles in BMW center inventory, this blanking plate must be replaced with a voltmeter ordered from BMW Parts Department.

Note that owners of vehicles already retailed, are having the voltmeter mailed direct to their home address starting week commencing January 18,1999.

Procedure:
1. Refer to the charts to determine the number of Voltmeters to be installed at your BMW center.

2. To order a Voltmeter, place a VIN specific VOR order for each Voltmeter needed. Orders will be reviewed and released daily.

3. Follow instructions in SI 62 07 98 (Installation of Voltmeter) to install Voltmeter.

Use this labor operation number when the only repair performed is the listed warranty repair.
OR
+Associated Work:
Use this labor operation number when other repairs or services are performed along with the listed warranty repair. Under no circumstances should both labor operation numbers be claimed. Attempts to claim both times will result in an unnecessary delay in claim processing and payment.
