Repair Instructions for installing filler pieces in the cowl panel seal





Note:
The actions described below are intended to compensate for the permanent deformation (1) of the cowl panel profile.

Remove the hardtop as described in Owner's Handbook.





Cut two filler pieces from the parts received to length: A = 75 mm





Lift up the sealing lip (1) on the cowl panel profile on the left above the windscreen.

First install the filler piece (2) with the rounded flat side (6 mm) under the sealing lip (1). Repeat the procedure for the right-hand side.

Important:
The water drain holes must not be blocked after the filler pieces have been installed. Equalise the cowl panel profile (1) on the left and right.





Note:
By installing the filler piece (2) on the left and the right, the cowl panel profile must again flow smoothly.

Note:
If fitting the filler pieces does not eliminate the wind noise on individual vehicle, it is necessary to remove the shims in the hardtop caches and to readjust the hardtop (please refer to Enclosure 2).
