SUBJECT
Momentary Drop in Radio/Telephone Volume or Clicking Noise

MODEL
E85 (Z4), E86 (Z4 Coupe) Vehicles produced January 1, 2006 to June 14, 2006

SITUATION
The customer complains of momentary drops in radio or telephone volume for up to 2 seconds at a time. The condition occurs approximately, once every 2 hours. For vehicle with the premium sound system (option 677), a momentary clicking noise is heard, occurring 3-5 times per hour.

CAUSE
Instrument Cluster with SW 10.

Affected P/Ns: 62 11 9 117 274, 62 11 9 117 275, 62 11 9 117 281 or 62 11 9 117 280. The parts may also have been installed on earlier production vehicles as a replacement part.

CORRECTION
Replace Instrument Cluster with revised part SW 10.2.
