Flywheel: Service and Repair

11 22 500 - Removing and installing/replacing flywheel (N54)





Special tools required:
- 11 4 180 11 4 180 Screwdriver Socket Torx T60
- 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove transmission
- Remove clutch Service and Repair





Enlarge special tool 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection with slot.
Enlarge slot on special tool 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection to 8 mm.





For vehicles with manual transmissions:
Secure flywheel with special tool 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection.
Release flywheel screws with special tool 11 4 180 11 4 180 Screwdriver Socket Torx T60.
Tightening torque 11 22 1AZ 11 22 Flywheel.

Installation:
The flywheel is secured with a dowel pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.





For vehicles with automatic transmissions:
Secure flywheel with special tool 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection.
Release flywheel screws with a suitable tool (1).
Tightening torque 11 22 1AZ 11 22 Flywheel.

Installation:
The flywheel is secured with a dowel pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.





Assemble engine.
