SUBJECT
No Audio Output After Turning the Ignition On

MODEL
E70 (X5) with option 677 (Top-HiFi amplifier)

From 09/2006 to 09/2007

SITUATION
Intermittently there is no audio output after turning the ignition on.

Fault code A1A8 "No communication with co-processor" is stored in the Top-HiFi amplifier.

CAUSE
Software error in the Top-HiFi amplifier

CORRECTION
Do not replace parts.

Program the vehicle with the most recent Progman version (target data status E70-07-09-520 or higher).

Refer to SI B09 05 01 - Coding, Individualization and Programming, Procedure B.

Note that Progman will automatically reprogram all programmable control units that do not have the latest software.

Please refer to the latest KSD for all applicable labor operations and allowances.

If the appropriate labor operation is not contained in KSD, then a work time labor operation should be used.
