SUBJECT
Dynamic Drive (ARS) Front Sway Bar Repairs

MODEL
E70 (X5) with Sport Package Option Code ZSP

INFORMATION

The Dynamic Drive System uses front and rear sway bars which are hydraulically actuated. The front sway bar incorporates an accumulator (1) and two pressure relief valves (2). If a leak occurs at the front sway bar, it may be possible to make a repair, rather than replacing the entire sway bar.

If a leak is caused by either the spring accumulator (1) or a pressure-relief valve (2), then it is not necessary to replace the complete anti-roll bar. These parts can be replaced separately.

If the spring accumulator (1) is found to be the source of the leak, replace the spring accumulator as per Repair Instruction, RA 37 11 ... "\1 "# " Replacing spring-type actuator for active stabilizer at front".

If one or both of the pressure-relief valves is found to be the source of the leak (2), replace them as a set using Repair Instruction, RA 37 11 ... "\1 "# " Replacing pressure relief valve for active stabilizer at front".
