Squeaking Noise from the Passenger Seat

Vehicles produced up to 9/24/2009 equipped with Nevada or Nappa Leather

SITUATION
When driving over rough roads without a passenger in the passenger seat, an intermittent squeaking noise can be heard.

Pressing down on the seat cover will eliminate the noise.

CAUSE
The bottom of the backrest cover moves in relation to the rear edge of the seat bottom cover. This relative movement produces a squeaking noise.

[NEW]INFORMATION
Refer to ISTA diagnosis for the required repair procedure. The test plan "AM5201_00012 - Front seat" interference noises" can be found under: "Activities/Information search/Function structure/Body/Mechanism, noise, optical element, leaks/Noise". The test plan can be performed using ISTA from the ISID or the PC Client.
