64 53 551 - Removing and installing/replacing condenser for A/C system (N63)

Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Follow safety instructions for handling R134a refrigerant.

Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Important!
Risk of damage!
Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.

If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:Replacing drier insert for A/C system 64 53 517 Replacing Desiccant Insert For Air Conditioning System
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drawing off, evacuating and filling the A/C system Drawing Off, Evacuating And Filling A/C System (R 134A) are not included in the time value given for this work operation
- Remove top front connection 51 64 025 Removing and Installing/Replacing Upper Front Connection
- Remove front underbody protection Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Underbody Protection
N63 only:
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 17 10 3AZ Specifications.
Detach transmission oil cooler upwards from fan cowl.
Unclip fan cowl (1) at retainers (2) on left and right and feed out in upward direction.
Note:
Remove fan cowl (1) only to such an extent as to be able to complete the next work step.
Release screws (1) on left and right from cover (3).
Tightening torque 17 10 1AZ 17 10 Radiator, Expansion Tank.
Release screws (2) behind sealing lip.
Tightening torque 17 10 1AZ 17 10 Radiator, Expansion Tank.
Lift out cover (3).
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 64 53 3AZ [1][2]Expansion Valve.
Remove A/C lines (2) in direction of arrow and place to one side.
After installation:
- Evacuate and fill A/C system Drawing Off, Evacuating And Filling A/C System (R 134A)
