51 16 000 Removing and installing or replacing mirror on left or right front door

Special tools required:







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove blind cover or tweeter cover







Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 51 41 1AZ.







Partially unclip door trim panel (1) in the area of the rearview mirror with special tool 00 9 325 .
Secure door trim panel (1) with suitable tool (2).
Partially loosen door window frame cover (3).







Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Unfasten screws (2).
Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ.

Installation note:
Due to self-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new rearview mirror increases by 2 Nm.
Set down the rearview mirror.







Installation note:
The sound insulation (1) must not be damaged or missing.
Carry out function check







Replacement
- Modify mirror glass
- Modify protective cap on exterior mirror
- If necessary, convert retaining ring on exterior mirror
