Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair

61 71 100 Removing and installing/replacing windscreen washer pump







- Before replacing the windscreen washer pump, check the fluid reservoir for dirt contamination and clean if necessary.







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove front wheel arch cover rear section
- Remove side repeater on right







NOTE: Washer fluid will escape when the windscreen washer pump is pulled out. Have a suitable collecting vessel and cleaning cloth ready.

Release cable strap (1).
Unlock the filling channel (2) from the water tank (3) and remove it.
Release screw (4).
Detach water fluid line (5) from holder.







Pull the water tank (1) slightly towards the front in the direction of the arrow.







Feed cable for side repeater (1) out of washer fluid reservoir (2).
Press windscreen washer pump (3) upwards in direction of arrow and lay to left side.







Disconnect plug connection (1).
Detach washer fluid line (2) from windscreen washer pump (3).
Remove windscreen washer pump (3).







Installation note:
If necessary, coat sealing ring of windscreen washer pumps with lubricant.
Ensure hose pipe is laid without kinks.
Make sure electrical wiring are correctly laid.
