Computers And Control Systems The coolant temperature data is calculated within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM via the class II serial data line controls the coolant TEMP indicator. The instrument cluster lights the coolant TEMP indicator when the PCM determines that the engine coolant temperature has reached a value of approximately 124°C (255°F).
