Troubleshooting Hints
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSISNOTE:
^ If the vehicle is left for 24 or more days without the ignition being put in the RUN position, the Illuminated Entry Feature will be disabled to decrease parasitic battery drain. Putting the ignition switch in RUN will restore this feature.
1. Check that ground G302 is clean and tight.
2. Check the DR LK1 Fuse by operating the Power Door Locks.
3. Always check terminal contact before replacing any component.
4. If a second transmitter is available, try it. If it works, resynchronize the first transmitter and try it again. If still not operational, change the batteries in transmitter. If still not operational, replace the transmitter.
5. Check Transmitter battery terminals. They should be clean and make good contact with the battery.
6. If in doubt as to the condition of the Transmitter batteries, replace them with new ones. Checking the battery voltage with a DMM may give false results.
7. If a motor's internal circuit breaker trips, it will not reset until voltage is removed from the motor. refer to Automatic Door Locks in Electrical Diagnosis. Testing and Inspection
^ Refer to Remote Keyless Entry for Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Access and additional information. Keyless Entry
^ Refer to System Diagnosis.
^ Check for broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove Good in continuity/voltage check (See Troubleshooting Procedures).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
