Oil Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

Engine Oil Pressure Switch:

The PCM monitors the Engine Oil Pressure Switch signal to determine if the engine oil pressure is OK. If the PCM determines that a low oil pressure condition exists, the PCM will communicate the information over the class II circuit to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and it will illuminate the indicator lamp.
