Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 34611-A Valve Core Remover and Installer




1. Remove the service port valve cap.




2. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Remove the cross vehicle brace if equipped.
4. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
5. Remove the service port valve core using J34611-A.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Lube the service port valve core O-ring with 525 refrigerant oil.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the service port valve core using J 34611-A.




2. Tighten the service port valve core.

Tighten
Tighten the service port valve core to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
4. Install the service port valve cap.
5. Test the service port for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
6. Install the cross vehicle brace if equipped.
7. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
