Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair
SERVICE PORT VALVE CORE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
TOOLS REQUIRED
J 34611-A Valve Core Remover and Installer
1. Remove the left front diagonal brace.
2. Remove the cross vehicle brace if equipped.
3. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See Refrigerant, A/C - Service and Repair.
4. Remove the service port valve cap.
5. Remove the service port valve core using J 34611-A.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Lubricate the service port valve core O-ring with 525 refrigerant oil.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the service port valve core using J 34611-A.
2. Tighten the service port valve core.
Tighten
Tighten the service port valve core to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
3. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See Refrigerant, A/C - Service and Repair.
4. Install the service port valve caps.
5. Test the service port for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
6. Install the cross vehicle brace if equipped.
7. Install the left front diagonal brace.
